Most dogs choose melee classes but this guy went for ranged attacks.

This is a bot. Report it as a harmful bot under spam to get it banned. It just says the same things over and over.

u/whatdontyousee 2d ago
I don’t think they’re trying to shoot it, it just slips outa their mouth lol
3
u/Whosdaman 2d ago
That’s exactly it! They like squeezing a ball, popping out is an unexpected outcome for them.

And I love how like 60% of them won't run after it.
Like, chasing isn't as much fun if you're the one throwing.

Man a sound engineer needs to rip the sound off of this and put it in some movie or video game. Perfect "pop" sound.

That thwop is so unique to racquetball balls. My dad is obsessed with RB and would make that thwop sound with bottom lip coming off his top teeth. None of us kids could ever replicate it. It just sounds so rubbery! The sound alone took me back to my childhood.

When this was posted before people said that was a choking hazard etc. Then now this comment section has opposites reaction to this
27
u/TostedAlmond 2d ago
Always depends on which crowd gets in here first

u/TriflingGnome 2d ago
ohh that'd be a something cool to see data on
how many comments/upvotes does it take before the "vibe" of a post is seeded and people just go along with the majority opinion

u/Psycko_90 2d ago edited 2d ago
It's really fascinating how two post can get totally opposite reaction on Reddit. The hive mind is real.

u/fanderoyalty 2d ago
Reddit right? They either love it, or are absolutely, completely against it and there are a ton of specialists to tell you why.

Last time this was posted I immediately went out and got a three pack for our frenchies. The smaller, younger frenchie absolutely shoots it out like this and chases it down, it's been fantastic for burning off energy. The bigger, older one loves to play hallway chase but doesn't self-shoot and retrieve. No choking yet!

u/nick124699 2d ago
I was actually coming here to see if someone was going to mention the ball. My dad's dog got one of those exact balls lodged in his throat.

u/shifty_coder 2d ago
Not much of a choking hazard for a dog that size, but I’d be worried about their teeth. Biting hard on something and it unexpectedly flying out might lead to breaking teeth.
Just stick to the classic tennis ball.

I'm just depressed by the fact that it wouldn't do this at all if it wasn't bred to have a flat face.

What rating did this doggo get?
8
u/paulfalcone95 2d ago
13/10
2
u/MembershipThrowAway 2d ago
What's the point of rating the dogs if every one gets a 13/10!?
3
u/MrMcDuffieTTv 2d ago
Is this a whoosh moment? They get 10/10 for being a dog and 3 extra for being a dog.

"They" and "their" is an option if you get tired of typing out "his/her" every time.

My Reddit feed is placing this immediately after a video of "Veterinarian removes toy stuck on dog's throat", as a consequence I was also concerned for this dog.

When I have too much information about politics and shit, I look at these weirdos and realize what's important in life is exactly how this dog plays with his ball.

Dudes, in all seriousness, that ball is very close to being a choking hazard. A small ball of that size that's also squishy... it won't take much for that to end up down the throat of that dog. My sister's dog did that - one of his favourite balls, it was squishy and after getting a bit too excited on a walk, it just slid down his throat before they could stop it. The vet tried to force it out with a liquid solution to induce vomiting, but it wouldn't come up, so he had to go into surgery to have the ball removed from the stomach. A very expensive and scary lesson learned!
Get rid of this ball.
5
u/grandpab 2d ago
It happened to my dog, but it didn't go too deep into his throat and he was able to push it out himself right away. I quit giving him racquetballs after that. Only tennis balls. The smooth texture on the racquetballs makes it way too easy for it to slip out of the grip they have on it with their teeth and it can go right down their throat.

One of my friends has what I think is a Frenchie. Are they all like little cannonballs? I'm not much of a dog-person (allergies), and was surprised by how [physically] dense that dog is.

u/Inner_Inspection640 2d ago
French bulldog. They are one of the sweetest breeds I’ve come across.
2
u/empire314 2d ago
Bruh, its a breed that can barely live because of the deformed face that has been manufactured for it. Its existence is a deep shame on humanity.

bull terriers have long snouts. also a bull terrier is different than a bulldog. this dog is a french bulldog.

This is funny. But I'm wondering at the same time whether that ball is flexible enough to get sucked inward into the dog's windpipe.
