It's 2023, about time to respond with "oh" or "okay".
u/SylvieJay 4d ago
No, no Mic, just a Mac. And he hates being lent out
u/RANDOM_EXTREMELY 3d ago
No, too late, he shouldve done that in 2022, now he has to wait till 2025 to respond so it would have been 6 years
u/accoladevideo 4d ago
3 years later - "k"
u/KirinPhnx 4d ago
"It's been 3 years you don't need to respond"
u/nickname10707173 4d ago
Can anybody guess what they are going to say in the next 3 years?
u/ObiWanHelloThere_wav 4d ago
2022: "It's no problem I've got lots of free time"
u/kaloschroma 4d ago
u/Calif0rnia_Soul 4d ago
This will be my response from now on to anyone I don't want texting me.
u/CurveOfTheUniverse 4d ago
This is totally the kind of thing I would do. My reminder app is pretty much exclusively for things that are years down the road — for example, I have a reminder for a 10-year wedding anniversary gift in 2026.
u/SendAstronomy 4d ago
!remindme 3 years
u/craig7993 4d ago
Depression can make you lean on the weirdest people
u/fromyuggoth 4d ago
It can also make you wait a long time before replying 🤷♂️
u/guywithaniphone22 4d ago
I came here for funny meirl not actual meirl
u/PickledTires 4d ago
This just explained a good portion of my life and has me reanalyzing a lot.
u/PuppySkys 4d ago
Just start scrolling through recent players on steam
u/Suck_Me_Dry666 4d ago
I was just doing this. I am you, you are me.
u/AdmiralDandyShoes 4d ago
Next is to look up local Meetup groups, discord servers and check out your local subreddit. Look for a board game group. Those are dope. They may only meet occasionally but it's something to look forward to.
u/Suck_Me_Dry666 4d ago
Don't wanna but good advice in general
u/AdmiralDandyShoes 3d ago
At least give your local discord group a try. I checked out the Reddit Arizona server and there was a small group that just played tarkov. Not really my game but they were chill.
u/PuppySkys 4d ago
Feel free to add me 80235463 warning I play valve games and have no taste
u/Boesesjoghurt 4d ago
Came to the comment section giggling - Got a self awareness realitycheck u_u

Retro itachi with character development. From “u have mic” to proper spelling and grammar. Reminds me of when I was 11 and started playing online games. Was typing like I rolled out of bed and sniffed glue every morning lol
u/hanhkhoa 4d ago
Dis shud b da top comment
u/Axunujar 4d ago edited 3d ago
The subject changes in the middle of the sentence, so I think they needed a
commasemicolon in order for it to be fully correct.
u/thereIsAHoleHere 4d ago
No, that would be a comma splice. They could use a conjunction, a semicolon/colon, or a period.
u/HeyIJustSaid 4d ago
Conjunction junction, what’s your function?
Hooking up words and phrases and clauses.
u/Weak_Feed_8291 4d ago
Taking in sperm and spitting out babies
u/Axunujar 3d ago
Using proper grammar feels like drawing a Sierpinski Triangle by hand. No matter how many rules I learn to follow, there are always more that I'm failing at. I suppose that you eventually get close enough to the real thing that most people can't tell the difference without a magnifying glass, which is good enough. Thanks for the correction.
u/thereIsAHoleHere 3d ago
Oh, for sure. I don't think most people care. I only brought it up since you were talking about what's "fully correct." I'd recommend The Elements of Style by William Strunk (and E.B. White) for an overview of English form. It's concise and entertaining, so don't let the topic throw you off.
u/Axunujar 3d ago
I'm really not much of a writer (or a reader), but I appreciate the suggestion regardless. The grammar I care about the most is the grammar of whatever programming language I happen to be using.
u/thereIsAHoleHere 3d ago
I mean, writing is essential to communication and understanding. You're doing it now, and I know you do it at work (either through email or Slack/Teams/JIRA).
u/Axunujar 3d ago
That's true. That's why I place value on ensuring that the grammar of a message is good enough to be understood without any double-takes or moments of confusion.
u/bitparity 4d ago
Wait, does that work? I might need to experiment... for science...
u/sorry_I_said_that 4d ago
No glu fo yo
u/Crispy_Karma 4d ago
Mic check 1 2 3 4 ... 3 years, ah finally the check is completed
u/OmniWaffleGod 4d ago
If he said yes you think they'd gotten in a vc?
u/Successful-Extension 4d ago
Poorly would've married and turned into a reddit love story
u/LeftFieldAzure 4d ago
I dunno.. I like closure.. this would work for me
u/santathe1 4d ago
It was closer to two and a half years, Itachi, so responding is perfectly reasonable.
u/asscrackbanditz 4d ago
At least he weren't no ghoster

u/Scriboergosum 4d ago
She might be dead. Or she just stopped using the app, but dead is more dramatic.
u/khaarde 4d ago
This reminded me (for some reason, it's not very similar) of the time I got stood up by a girl I met online. We had texted a lot so I had her number.
When she no-showed I texted her "I can't believe I wore a new pair of socks for this."
We did meet up eventually, but she was lame and spent the whole date on her phone.
u/TurnkeyLurker 4d ago
She had a foot fetish. She was holding her phone under the table trying to zoom in on your socks for a close-up picture, but had inadvertently shut off the flash and was trying to raise the brightness level. She was not successful, and was embarrassed to ask for more.
u/bluejaygotham 4d ago
Maybe stop harassing Madison
u/MoveItSpunkmire 4d ago
6 years later: “ok”
u/Wyvern_Milk 4d ago
He is terribly lagging
u/Mastropluck 4d ago
It's been 4 years you didn't need to post this
u/DeathsCompanion 4d ago
Just had this happen.
About six months ago someone asked a question in Discord and I DMed them because the answer to their question always stirs up trouble in that server.
Yesterday they replied saying thanks and saying they had been meaning to reply but had been so busy lately.
I don't know this person and had forgotten about the conversation entirely.
u/BobThe_Body_Builder 4d ago
In 3 years, he went from using "u" to "you." That's some character development
u/Active_Angle_9510 4d ago
Sad there wasn’t an “ok” dated 2023
u/Defiant_Low_1391 4d ago
Respond "Ok" in 3 years. Please I'm begging you
u/ShakaWTWF 4d ago
Homie shoulda waited until 2022 to respond “Okay”
u/Drago_133 4d ago
what exactly is retro itachi just child itachi?
u/assorted_playing 4d ago
lmao when you are getting active to chats and wanted to reply everyone you've seenzoned HAHAHAHHA lmao
u/GodSaveThe__Queen 4d ago
And it’s been 3+ years since this happened.
u/Valtermann 4d ago
Looking forward to the next response.
u/poisonfoxxxx 4d ago
HAHA finally settled the nerves and decided to answer.
u/SaltyCriticisms 4d ago
Sad , he was using internet explorer
u/TheRedditornator 4d ago
3 years later: "Ok."
u/esDenchik 4d ago
So, where is answer 'Sorry' in 2022?
u/ninjahunz 4d ago
almost 4 years, you need to give them an update
u/PowerfulPickUp 4d ago
I’ve definitely gotten replies on Reddit from comments a year old.
u/EidolonRook 4d ago
u/Klutzy_Pound_5428 4d ago
He thought you were still waiting
u/Warm_Candidate_9973 4d ago
This happened to me recently, I logged in my account and saw a message from 2-3 years ago and it was like do you wanna play Bad Company 2. Sadly, the servers were offline.
u/CafeTerraceAtNoon 4d ago
Should’ve left a voice message.
u/neoslith 4d ago
I sometimes get people commenting on my threads or posts years after going up. I don't understand how they even find them.
u/Careless_Decision_25 4d ago
Thanks, gotta make sure my deep thoughts are heard.
u/sherlockbardo 4d ago
He was waiting for the moment where he does not have a mic
u/Mia-Kelley 4d ago
thats me haha
u/CthulubeFlavorcube 4d ago
Still waiting for the mic to age to retro status, then BOOOM!!! HAHAHA, I HAD THE MIC THIS WHOLE TIME! Drops mic on poor Itachi's humble grave.
u/Shiro26Pamp 4d ago
'Hey, sorry. Been a little busy. Wanna hop on a game now?"
"It's been 7 years. I have a wife and kids now."
"Cool. Is that a no, then?"
u/jim_jiminy 4d ago
It’s polite to respond tho
u/Gloomy-Water-6184 4d ago
Haha, that's some serious attention to detail!
u/Ebonhold 4d ago
It’s been 4 years you don’t need to repost
u/kingofthebean 4d ago
I just recently had someone respond to an email i set 18 months ago.
u/ResistNecessary8109 4d ago
If they didn't want to know, then why did they ask?
u/Apparentlyloneli 4d ago

u/Exotic_Explorer_3374 4d ago
He could reply anytime this year
u/King_toco_XV 4d ago

u/VanillaP 4d ago
Can’t wait to see reply in 3 more years
u/TimX24968B 4d ago

u/ExtremeFocus5 4d ago
I do this sometimes, it’s the polite thing to do
u/NeedleworkerGlass808 4d ago
yes like a chat with my gf
u/rattletop 4d ago
The proper way would have been to wait 3 years and write ‘K’
u/Thy_God_King 4d ago
u/doualiland 4d ago
I know that dude he was in a coma right after he readed the text , after he woke up he said that it was early morning and just got up from a nightmare dreaming that he had a baby named mic with his ex , so when he reached out he's phone and saw the text he thought that she was the one texting telling him that she's pregnant in a sarcastic way '' u have mic ''
u/melvereq 4d ago
I hate people like this yet I'm like this too.
u/Cdf12345 4d ago
u/Binky216 4d ago

Me when someone replies to a reddit comment I made greater than a week ago.
For real who the heck replies to a 1 month, 1 year, or even 3 year old comment?
u/NomadicDolphin 4d ago
Just tying up those loose ends
u/ecologamer 4d ago
One time I randomly got a text from my roommate. I replied and he was confused. Turns out he sent the text 2 years prior
u/Historical_Ad_5210 4d ago
It's been 4 years, you don't need to post.
u/lemons_of_doubt 4d ago
feel the only good follow up to this would be to wait 3 years then say "ok"
u/TurnkeyLurker 4d ago
MIC IS ON MUTE
u/deskCrapper 4d ago
Need: no, want: yes
u/thirdeyefish 4d ago
Two and a half.
u/Iam_Iforgotmyname 4d ago
The reply screams only one thing: I am so lonely that I am replying to a 3 years old message.
u/StoneKidman 4d ago
Prison be like that
u/SapphireRoseRR 4d ago
I need the follow up! I need something from today where they respond "ok."
u/Zealousideal-Car-108 4d ago
It's been 4 years, you don't need to repost
u/J4MES101 4d ago
Mic was dropped into a very deep mine
It took that long to find and recover it
u/CrashMaxBro 4d ago
u/RemindMeBot 3 years
u/This_Brief8325 4d ago
Took them 3 years to realize they had no mic to talk into the phone.
u/mudwerks 4d ago
I wasn't sure then
now I'm sure
u/Gaby33400 4d ago
In a few days it'll be the 4th anniversary of this meme.
u/Millo_Eisa 3d ago
People when they tell me they're busy:
u/notarealredditor69 3d ago
I feel like this person really wanted to buy one so they could say yea but they never really got around to it and eventually just gave up on that dream
u/Sleeping-_-Ghost 3d ago
This sub has so much edginess to it that it’s memes ironically lost their “edge” and I have no idea which of these two players are supposed to represent “meirl”
u/OppositeAd1236 3d ago
Now in 2023 say okey😁
u/SumOctavia 3d ago
Would’ve been funny if the other person waited 3 years to respond aswell
u/Longjumping_Juice791 3d ago
🤣 you know what the amount of times where I’ve wanted to just randomly message someone back after a year or two
u/PoisoningMe 2d ago
2 days and it'll have been 4 years
u/Sentient_AI_4601 4d ago
Bro checked real thoroughly if he had a mic.
