u/CrookedAnnuit 4d ago

He took three years to understand, what is mic.

47

u/winterjam010 4d ago

Mike is kid named finger

3

u/Ashleyis_afemboy 4d ago

I'm not so sure its been three years and they still don't got one XD

42

u/SylvieJay 4d ago

It was originally Itachi's mic. After not getting a response, Itachi had moved on. Now it's this guy's mic. 😆😂

0

u/Alphafemal3777 3d ago

Guy on couch = guy with no mic Mikee turns out didn't like it. After all.....

16

u/Admiral_Akdov 4d ago

I like to think he went looking for a mic and feel into some Narnia shit. Got embroiled in an otherworldly conflict for 3 years. Finally gets back and this is how he picks up his life right where he left it.

1

u/Ashleyis_afemboy 4d ago

We should all message this kid on xbox live and be like you got a mic yet Lmao.

1

u/Alphafemal3777 3d ago

I have an Uncle Mike

u/r2k-in-the-vortex 4d ago

It's 2023, about time to respond with "oh" or "okay".

84

u/SylvieJay 4d ago

No, no Mic, just a Mac. And he hates being lent out

1

u/RANDOM_EXTREMELY 3d ago

No, too late, he shouldve done that in 2022, now he has to wait till 2025 to respond so it would have been 6 years

859

u/accoladevideo 4d ago

3 years later - "k"

112

u/KirinPhnx 4d ago

"It's been 3 years you don't need to respond"

15

u/nickname10707173 4d ago

Can anybody guess what they are going to say in the next 3 years?

19

u/ObiWanHelloThere_wav 4d ago

2022: "It's no problem I've got lots of free time"

2

u/kaloschroma 4d ago

"sure."

2

u/Calif0rnia_Soul 4d ago

This will be my response from now on to anyone I don't want texting me.

5

u/CurveOfTheUniverse 4d ago

This is totally the kind of thing I would do. My reminder app is pretty much exclusively for things that are years down the road — for example, I have a reminder for a 10-year wedding anniversary gift in 2026.

2

u/SendAstronomy 4d ago

It can also make you wait a long time before replying 🤷‍♂️

24

u/PickledTires 4d ago

This just explained a good portion of my life and has me reanalyzing a lot.

14

u/PuppySkys 4d ago

Just start scrolling through recent players on steam

6

u/Suck_Me_Dry666 4d ago

I was just doing this. I am you, you are me.

10

u/AdmiralDandyShoes 4d ago

Next is to look up local Meetup groups, discord servers and check out your local subreddit. Look for a board game group. Those are dope. They may only meet occasionally but it's something to look forward to.

7

u/Suck_Me_Dry666 4d ago

Don't wanna but good advice in general

1

u/AdmiralDandyShoes 3d ago

At least give your local discord group a try. I checked out the Reddit Arizona server and there was a small group that just played tarkov. Not really my game but they were chill.

2

u/PuppySkys 4d ago

Retro itachi with character development. From “u have mic” to proper spelling and grammar. Reminds me of when I was 11 and started playing online games. Was typing like I rolled out of bed and sniffed glue every morning lol

u/hanhkhoa 4d ago

30

u/Axunujar 4d ago edited 3d ago

The subject changes in the middle of the sentence, so I think they needed a comma semicolon in order for it to be fully correct.

12

u/thereIsAHoleHere 4d ago

No, that would be a comma splice. They could use a conjunction, a semicolon/colon, or a period.

7

u/HeyIJustSaid 4d ago

Conjunction junction, what’s your function?

Hooking up words and phrases and clauses.

1

u/Weak_Feed_8291 4d ago

Taking in sperm and spitting out babies

1

u/Axunujar 3d ago

Using proper grammar feels like drawing a Sierpinski Triangle by hand. No matter how many rules I learn to follow, there are always more that I'm failing at. I suppose that you eventually get close enough to the real thing that most people can't tell the difference without a magnifying glass, which is good enough. Thanks for the correction.

2

u/thereIsAHoleHere 3d ago

Oh, for sure. I don't think most people care. I only brought it up since you were talking about what's "fully correct." I'd recommend The Elements of Style by William Strunk (and E.B. White) for an overview of English form. It's concise and entertaining, so don't let the topic throw you off.

1

u/Axunujar 3d ago

I'm really not much of a writer (or a reader), but I appreciate the suggestion regardless. The grammar I care about the most is the grammar of whatever programming language I happen to be using.

1

u/thereIsAHoleHere 3d ago

I mean, writing is essential to communication and understanding. You're doing it now, and I know you do it at work (either through email or Slack/Teams/JIRA).

1

u/Axunujar 3d ago

That's true. That's why I place value on ensuring that the grammar of a message is good enough to be understood without any double-takes or moments of confusion.

0

u/bitparity 4d ago

Wait, does that work? I might need to experiment... for science...

2

u/sorry_I_said_that 4d ago

70

u/OmniWaffleGod 4d ago

31

u/Successful-Extension 4d ago

Poorly would've married and turned into a reddit love story

21

u/LeftFieldAzure 4d ago

I dunno.. I like closure.. this would work for me

33

u/santathe1 4d ago

It was closer to two and a half years, Itachi, so responding is perfectly reasonable.

u/asscrackbanditz 4d ago

She might be dead. Or she just stopped using the app, but dead is more dramatic.

7

u/khaarde 4d ago

This reminded me (for some reason, it's not very similar) of the time I got stood up by a girl I met online. We had texted a lot so I had her number.

When she no-showed I texted her "I can't believe I wore a new pair of socks for this."

We did meet up eventually, but she was lame and spent the whole date on her phone.

2

u/TurnkeyLurker 4d ago

She had a foot fetish. She was holding her phone under the table trying to zoom in on your socks for a close-up picture, but had inadvertently shut off the flash and was trying to raise the brightness level. She was not successful, and was embarrassed to ask for more.

u/bluejaygotham 4d ago

3

u/DeathsCompanion 4d ago

Just had this happen.

About six months ago someone asked a question in Discord and I DMed them because the answer to their question always stirs up trouble in that server.

Yesterday they replied saying thanks and saying they had been meaning to reply but had been so busy lately.

I don't know this person and had forgotten about the conversation entirely.

9

u/BobThe_Body_Builder 4d ago

In 3 years, he went from using "u" to "you." That's some character development

5

u/Active_Angle_9510 4d ago

Sad there wasn’t an “ok” dated 2023

4

u/Defiant_Low_1391 4d ago

Respond "Ok" in 3 years. Please I'm begging you

3

I’ve definitely gotten replies on Reddit from comments a year old.

u/Warm_Candidate_9973 4d ago

This happened to me recently, I logged in my account and saw a message from 2-3 years ago and it was like do you wanna play Bad Company 2. Sadly, the servers were offline.

0

u/CafeTerraceAtNoon 4d ago

Should’ve left a voice message.

0

u/neoslith 4d ago

I sometimes get people commenting on my threads or posts years after going up. I don't understand how they even find them.

0

u/Careless_Decision_25 4d ago

Thanks, gotta make sure my deep thoughts are heard.

0

u/sherlockbardo 4d ago

He was waiting for the moment where he does not have a mic

0

u/Mia-Kelley 4d ago

0

u/CthulubeFlavorcube 4d ago

Still waiting for the mic to age to retro status, then BOOOM!!! HAHAHA, I HAD THE MIC THIS WHOLE TIME! Drops mic on poor Itachi's humble grave.

0

u/Shiro26Pamp 4d ago

'Hey, sorry. Been a little busy. Wanna hop on a game now?"

"It's been 7 years. I have a wife and kids now."

"Cool. Is that a no, then?"

Reminds me of the time I Facebook messaged an acquaintance from school a question and he never got back to me. A couple years later I was drunk and saw the message and thought he had messaged me, so I replied… to myself. Long story short we haven’t spoken.

-2

u/Whattheheckyo78 4d ago

No, it hadn't. There's still 7 months left at that time.....math a little ffs

1

u/Thy_God_King 4d ago

2023: ok

1

u/brito68 4d ago

Looks forward to someone saving this post to come back and comment on it three years from now

1

u/doualiland 4d ago

I know that dude he was in a coma right after he readed the text , after he woke up he said that it was early morning and just got up from a nightmare dreaming that he had a baby named mic with his ex , so when he reached out he's phone and saw the text he thought that she was the one texting telling him that she's pregnant in a sarcastic way '' u have mic ''

1

u/TurnkeyLurker 4d ago

Or say

MIC IS ON MUTE

u/deskCrapper 4d ago

Need: no, want: yes

1

u/thirdeyefish 4d ago

Two and a half.

1

u/Iam_Iforgotmyname 4d ago

The reply screams only one thing: I am so lonely that I am replying to a 3 years old message.

1

u/StoneKidman 4d ago

Prison be like that

1

I feel like this person really wanted to buy one so they could say yea but they never really got around to it and eventually just gave up on that dream

This sub has so much edginess to it that it’s memes ironically lost their “edge” and I have no idea which of these two players are supposed to represent “meirl”

1

u/OppositeAd1236 3d ago

Now in 2023 say okey😁

1

u/SumOctavia 3d ago

Would’ve been funny if the other person waited 3 years to respond aswell

1

u/Longjumping_Juice791 3d ago

🤣 you know what the amount of times where I’ve wanted to just randomly message someone back after a year or two
